Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in the Olympic contest. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. First competing in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. And in 1970, was crowned champion. In her 1972 first international competition in an preolympics junior event for nations in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold medals and one silver. The first female to complete a reverse double salo with the bar with a parallel surface after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment industry by performing in the form of a figure skater. Together with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol's career began in entertainment as a teenager. She began her career by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
